Hello, I'm Tom K.

I'm Canon Tom, the Rector of St Faith's in Havant, and a keen amateur musician - looking to support local music-making, and generate some funds to continue developing the church as a space for the whole community to use. Any musicians interested in using the church will find me a sympathetic and understanding muso! The church is already much used for music making, including regular lunchtime concerts throughout the spring and summer months, and evening and afternoon events. We encourage local musicians to make use of this wonderful space - a building with a bright enough acoustic to add sparkle, but without the long echoes of larger church buildings. If you are local to Havant, do pop in and see/hear the space for yourself. The building is open to the public every day between 8am and 3pm. PLEASE NOTE the following additional info: Music stands (up to 20) can be provided, but for an extra small charge (£1 per session per stand) payable direct. (They are stored off-site, and delivery will need to be arranged). The building's sound system is essentially rigged for speaking and playing of audio and video tracks. Some XLR functionality is available, but it is not a standard PA rig. In addition to making the church available as a rehearsal space, we would be delighted to host concerts, either as fundraisers for the church (if gifted by musicians) or as chargeable events for musicians themselves (hiring rates negotiable). We can comfortably seat around 200 people for concerts, and up to 300 at a push. We hope you'll understand that whilst general availability is as set out on this page, there will be days and times that we can't make the church available, due to special events, weddings or seasonal services already in the calendar. Please also note that whilst I've set up this page as an individual, ALL fees charged will go directly to the church, the bank details of which have been given to MushRoom.
